Katcouta is a licensed restaurant at 400 Sydney Road, Brunswick, that specializes in North African cuisine. The food varies from: entrees - Sanbusik, Potato Pancakes or Vine Leaf Rolls; Side Dishes - Egyptian Salad, Tourshi & Koushari; Mains - Goat, Quail, Nile Perch or Bamiya; and Desserts - Chocolate Fudge, Parfait, Muhallibiya or Ataif (See Menu for full menu).

 About once a week Katcouta has a band playing, usually Friday or Saturday.  The bands vary from Middle Eastern music (Yalla!, Baghdad or Bust) to Arabic Jazz (Al Jadida) to Gypsy music (the haBiBis) to European music (Flirting Mazurkas, Peter O'shea & Elliott Folvig). There is no cover charge for these.  Once a month Katcouta have a belly dance club perform called Club Rakkasah, which is not organized by Katcouta, and therefore has a $12 cover charge.
